Conservation organizations with projects in the Russian Far East

  • WWF Russia located in Moscow oversees many projects in East Russia. These links represent only a few of their projects. WWF recently launched a project aimed at promoting international cooperation on river basin management for the Amur and Mekong rivers

  • Pacific Environment Organization is an environmental organization very active in Russia overall, with several projects in Kamchatka and Sakhalin
  • Earth Island Institute - Lake Baikal works in partnership with the Great Baikal Trail Organization and has also done work in other areas, such as Kamchatka
  • Sustainable Forestry Project in Russian Far East Forest Project works on new forest project designs in the areas of the Primorsky and Khabarovsky Krais
  • The Wildlife Conservation Society is very active in East Russia. They are very involved in projects both dealing with the Amur Tiger and Snow Leopard.

    This organization has a long history in Russia and participates in many excellent programs in various regions in the Russian Far East and Siberia
  • Wild Salmon Center
    This organization supports salmon habitat protection in both Kamchatka and Sakhalin. Through an affiliate company they operate fishing programs, which support local organizations in conserving and protecting this precious resource
